At the Academy of Little Learners, the philosophy and curriculum is based on the idea that children benefit from a balance of teacher directed and child initiated learning activities. We offer a developmentally appropriate early childhood education program that meets the needs of the “whole child” and encourages the power of play. We facilitate and foster the growth and development of young children physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually in a happy, safe and nurturing environment that encourages individuality, self discovery, cooperation, inquisitiveness and respect for themselves, others and their surroundings.
The incorporation of art, music, science, mathematics and language, cooking and nurturing provides children with an empowered relationship with the world around them.
Children need to be actively involved in their learning which is why it is our mission to provide all children with opportunities to ask questions, make decisions, search for meaning, be absorbed, engage in conversation, solve problems and resolve their conflicts.
For a child, every experience is an opportunity to learn how to be confident, competent humans, who can contribute to the world their own individual qualities and the capability to make a difference. Every moment of a child’s life is an unprecedented opportunity to have experiences so precious they will last their lifetime. At Academy of Little Learners we consider the opportunity to nurture, teach, inspire and foster those experiences a privilege and an honor.
